This project showcases a luxury tropical garden designed for a private oceanfront villa in Tulum. The client wanted an outdoor space that wrapped around the home, offering a unique sensory experience, lush vegetation, and a strong connection with the surrounding landscape. In addition to aesthetics, the design required an ecological function: integrating a green roof to improve thermal insulation and support local biodiversity.

The main goal was to create an exterior space that provided privacy, freshness, and natural immersion without compromising on luxury. The green roof needed to act as a natural thermal barrier, reduce the home’s environmental impact, and serve as a habitat for native flora and fauna.

The garden was designed as a relaxing tropical oasis, featuring a circular pool surrounded by dense vegetation that adds shade, texture, and a refreshing atmosphere. A contemporary pergola invites guests to enjoy ocean sunsets, while ambient lighting transforms the space into a magical nighttime setting.

The horizontal green roof was integrated as both a functional and aesthetic element. It improves indoor thermal comfort, reduces energy consumption, and enhances biodiversity by attracting pollinators, birds, and small wildlife.

The planting scheme includes Rhododendrons for long-lasting, vibrant blooms, combined with large-leaf tropical species selected for their resilience to coastal climates. This palette enriches the sensory experience and strengthens the connection between architecture and nature.
