This interior landscaping project was created for a private villa in Vilassar, in the Maresme region, just outside Barcelona. The client wanted to recreate the feeling of a tropical jungle inside the living room, taking advantage of a glass‑enclosed patio that opens visually to the outdoors while remaining sheltered from wind and direct sunlight.

The goal was to enhance the interior views with a sophisticated botanical composition that delivers an immersive sensory experience and a constant connection with nature.

The home’s contemporary architecture included a glass patio that visually connected the interior with the exterior while maintaining a controlled microclimate. The challenge was to transform this space into a lush tropical garden that evokes the atmosphere of a natural rainforest without compromising indoor comfort or energy efficiency.

The planting design focused on resilient tropical species capable of thriving in a protected, semi‑interior environment. The composition includes:

• Natural stones carefully selected to add texture, contrast and authenticity
• Monstera deliciosa as the sculptural focal point
• Ficus Amstel King adding depth and elegance
• Ferns, ophiopogon and aspidistra recreating the layered structure of a tropical understory

During the day, the garden becomes a living painting, visible from the living room and offering a continuous connection with nature. The glass enclosure acts as a frame, integrating the botanical composition into the architectural design.

At night, warm lighting creates a play of shadows and highlights that evokes the quiet magic of a tropical forest.
